Recently bought a Q4 40 s line.
Project EV charge ( plug & charge set up) in a residential block of just 8 flats.

Originally I thought was a cable issue hence I bought a new cable from ev extras.

Once plugged into the project EV. Audi charging port is flashing white for couple of minutes, the dashboard says “initiate” charge and then —> Charging system:
fault.
Error in charging infrastructure.

After 5 attempts eventually it does charge but is this normal? Did anyone else experience something similar?

Many thanks

Luca

Yes i had that a few times mostly when my car charger is on the timer. The white flashing light used to go red sometimes which indicates that it won't charge however when the charger starts when the time comes, it usually charged.

Ring them directly. I had an issue mine would not charge on schedule. They can gain direct access to your app and sorted. Very good experience and very helpful.

I am now on my second Q4 40 E tron and i had the same problem last weekend on a public charger, tried 5 times then changed the charger and same message again charging infrastructure error. Tried a total of 10 times without success, good job i wasn't desperate for a charge, i only tried it because it was free. My daughter rolled up in her Ionic 5, plugged into same charger and cable and was charging within 10 seconds. My last car went in to get checked out but they couldn't find anything wrong and this one is going in next month to get checked out, probably with the same result. There must be something wrong and probably not admitting it. Doesn't give you confidence if in really need of a charge. I had to overnight in a hotel last time it happened on a Sunday evening so was extremely #### off.

Toronto - Q4 2022. I have a charging malfunction but only for DC (level 3 charging). AC charging is ok. It wasn't working at any L3 public charging stations and since the malfunction wouldn't stay on after leaving the charging station, I went to my dealer to have them check with their L3 - and it didn't work. Q4 is going in next week and I will update on problem.

I had this last week. Tried several times and kept getting Charging Infrastructure errors.

I am on Intelligent Octopus Go (& Hypervolt). Tried both scheduled and Bump charge. Both had issues.

When I disconnected IOG it started charging fine (via Hypervolt charger). I have since reconnected IOG and it is smart charging as expected.

Problem fixed. It was the charging port (AUDI part# UX4) . They replaced the port module and the associated wiring (89A-971-531-AD). The weight of the CCS L3 charging handle and cable is very heavy (relative to L2) and the latch catch/release mechanism oi the port module couldn't achieve a firm latch, ie no click. I was told that Audi has revised the design of the port module. Dealer indicated that this is becoming a "common" problem.

Thank you for that info. I will keep an eye out for that occurring (hopefully not though). :D
