We have a 2024 Q4 E-tron 45, which we bought in August 2024. Unfortunately after 2800 miles in November 2024 the warning 'Electrical system fault. Please contact workshop' appeared on the dash as I was driving and the power steering failed. Luckily I had just arrived home so was able to reverse onto the drive. The car was recovered by Audi following a technician coming out to see it and it has been with Audi since then - recovered November 22nd 2024. The only updates we get from Audi are that they are testing the car until it then failed a road test at the start of January. The latest update was that they have ordered a new 12V battery, until today when we have been informed that the 12V battery has arrived faulty so they have had to order another.
Have searched the forum but have not seen a similar issue recently. Was wondering if anyone had any experience of the same issue and if so how long did it take to get resolved.
Electrical system fault. Please contact workshop
Has your car been with the dealer since November? If so, that is awful.marno83 wrote: ↑Tue Feb 04, 2025 2:42 pm We have a 2024 Q4 E-tron 45, which we bought in August 2024. Unfortunately yes been with Audi since November. Getting close now to the car being in the garage with Audi for as long as we originally had it.
The 12v battery they ordered in January arrived faulty, which they found out during a road test this week. They have ordered a new 12v battery but just been told today that the battery required is on back order with no current delivery date.
Most frustrating thing is no one can tell us what the issue with the car is or if this new battery will even solve the issue - every diagnostic or test they run in the garage they have to send off to Audi in Germany. Customer service at Audi Bolton is 0/10 - they never contact you, leave you on hold for 30+ mins and don't return calls.

We've actually got the car back now, working fine so far the last week. Audi have told us they have identified an ongoing trend with the Q4 where a substandard battery was installed at manufacture which caused the fault. They said that there is at least 14 other vehicles were affected at this time in the UK with the same issue. The solution reached was to install a new upgraded battery that would be compatible with the vehicle. The time taken to resolve seems to be them going back and forth with Audi in Germany and then realising there were multiple cars in garages with the same fault.
