Re: Motion sensor

Press the start/stop button to turn the vehicle off once you park (rather than just getting out and it turning off automatically).

On the MMI, there will be a few options and one is to deactivate the motion sensor for that instance.

Re: Driver's Seat Creaking!

It’s a warranty issue, take the car to the dealer and get them to fix it.

Re: Software Update

ScottyQ4 - what is your Q4 spec - 2WD?

My Q4 50 Quattro was delivered in November 2021 and I have no real information from the dealer on a potential SW update. It seems Quattro's may have a different update plan.

Re: Battery drain?

EVs have a high voltage (400 or 880V) battery that runs the electric motor for propulsion, and a few other systems including the HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning). They also have a low voltage (12V) system that runs the other vehicle systems; this is charged by a DC/DC converter runni...

Make a warranty claim with Audi, they will likely replace the drums!

Re: With Tesla discounting by 7k, do you think this will have other manufacturers doing the same

Tesla have significantly higher margins from a more mature supply chain with higher production, so they can afford to discount. They have excess stock due to slowing global demand and need to shift vehicles, rather than cut production. So cutting into the profit margin is a way to do that, whilst al...

Re: Q4 40 Sline charging and range problems

I stood there with another Audi owner, a Hyundai ioniq 5 owner, a Tesla and Porsche. The Porsche got the highest speed followed by Tesla, Hyundai and then the Audi. I wondered if the Porsche was more effective at polling the charging speed available and if it could be upped. Seems the q4 got priori...

Re: Q4 40 Sline charging and range problems

Single pedal mode is generally less efficient because it relies on the driver to lift and maintain the accelerator position to control speed. Since regen braking/deceleration is not 100% efficient (energy is lost when it is transferred from the motor, through the inverter and into the battery), any ...

Re: Q4 40 Sline charging and range problems

I’m not an Audi engineer or EV powertrain engineer, however I have designed braking systems for many OEMs including EVs that blend braking between regen and friction/foundation brakes. Charging speeds are influenced by: - Initial battery state of charge (SOC) - Temperature of the battery - Charger c...
