Engage reverse whilst going forwards!

Not sure if this is a quirk of electric cars or a software bug, but I accidentally engaged reverse whilst driving forwards in a car park! The car stopped quite quickly and immediately started reversing. I would have thought there would be some sort of software interlock to stop that happening whilst driving forwards. You can also engage neutral when in drive and without stopping first.
