Hi All,

Has anyone found a way of disabling lane assistance by default ?

I am finding on some roundabouts and complicated junctions it will try and adjust steering and on some roads make the steering feel twitchy.

Can turn it off temporarily by holding button on indicator stick for 3 seconds or via the menu however it resets every time car is restarted.

I have the q3 with lane assist and was looking to have the “default off” as preferred option, local Audi garage said it was a safety feature therefore could not be changed

It's a type approval requirement, which for new vehicles may only be disabled temporarily. Upon power cycling it will reset to the normal 'on position'.

It can’t be turned off permanently.

I have a Q2 (waiting for Q4 40) and with Lane Assist I can turn it on or off with a single press of the left stick end button. If I don’t want the car to ‘fight’ when on and manoeuvring I need to ensure my indicator is active for the direction I intend to go (I.e overtake).
When I come back to the car (I.e next day) Lane Assist is in the mode where I last left it.

Is this not the same on the Q4?
