On the turn indicator lever in the car I have the word Auto. Reading the handbook there is a section about high beam assist and to activate this push the lever forward and the lamp with Auto will appear in the instrument cluster. In my case nothing happens, so is this an option I’ll be able to activate using OBD or VCDS, or could it be part of the ‘functions on demand’ Audi plan to introduce sometime this millennium. I don’t have matrix headlights.

I have High Beam Assist on my Q2. Pushing the lever forward just activates it’s ability to happen. High Beam should activate when you enter a darkened street and dip when a car approaches on the other side or red lights are detected ahead. Some days it works flawlessly and others far less so.
