I think it would be far easier if Audi digital services would pull their finger out and enable scheduled charging from the vehicle. From what I have read elsewhere an app update maybe coming Feb 22

Podpoint technical people are to visit my home on Tuesday 18 Jan. to test the system. Still charging at 3.5kw when on a scheduled charge. Let’s see what happens when Podpoint pull the thing to bits.

Will be good to hear the outcome as mine is doing exactly the same!

Hi - I would be interested in this outcome - my charger has been fine since December and then last week started slow charging at 3.5kw - waiting a call back from podpoint

Podpoint have released a Solo 3 so that will explain the update causing odd things with the schedule charging and probably slow speeds!

Ok peoples. Following a visit by Podpoint It would appear that a modification to either the podpoint app or software update to the charger itself has taken place towards the end of 2021. Firstly The engineers investigation included checking the switches to ensure that the charger could deliver 7kw (mine did) and secondlysimply switching the charger off then on. (This is despite podpoint carrying out an earlier ‘reset’ over the air a few weeks ago). On further testing and using a scheduled charging time via the Podpoint app then ‘bingo’ the vehicle was pulling 6.5kw. the engineer also advised that the podpoint app should be deleted and reloaded etc. I am however before deleting the app etc going to try a scheduled charge during 0030-0430 to see if the switching on/off procedure has resolved this issue.

Tried a scheduled charge early this morning. Still only pulling circa 3.5kw yet will pull 7kw if you plug directly into the charger without a scheduled time. Deleted the app etc and spent most of the morning testing the podpoint schedular in different configurations including a borrowed replacement cable. Interestingly the vehicle charged fine on a scheduled charge at 6.5kw with an Audi OEM cable. Tried again with the coiled 4EV charging cable-back to 3.5kw. Tried the coiled cable on a mates Id3 and it pulled 7kw. Looks like a fault in the cable and/or the connectors when used on the Q4. Spoke to 4EV and they are going to test the cable themselves and remedy by repair or replacement. Disappointing given the cable is only 3 months old. Will try another scheduled charge tomorrow morning with Audi OEM cable to check again

Same again I’m afraid with a scheduled charge and Audi OEM cable. Still only pulling 3.5kw. I have reported the problem again to Podpoint and informed the local Audi dealer. I’m at a loss now. Will probably have to wait for an update to the vehicle software for inclusion of an ‘on vehicle’ charge scheduler unless you peoples out there know otherwise??

So I'm going to throw this into the mix.. set the car to 80% charge and set podpoint to schedule from midnight, 7.5kwh is delivered... Set the car to 100% charge and podpoint to schedule from midnight, 3.5kwh delivered...

Manual 100% or 80%, 7.5kwh delivered..

I strongly suspect as mentioned in previous post that PodPoint have stuffed up their update as we know there has definitely not been any updates to the Q4!

Hi,

Hopefully this isn’t a daft question, but I can’t get the charging schedule to to work using the Podpoint app! I’m sure the reason is distance as when it was installed the technician said he couldn’t connect it to my network as I was a long way from my WiFi hub. I’ve tried the BT WiFi disc to extend the signal, but that doesn’t help. I want to move to a cheaper overnight tariff (that’s a joke at the moment), but without the app that could be a challenge! Any thoughts on ways to improve the signal.

What also confuses me is the Audi app works fine when I send climate instructions to the car and that’s next to the Podpoint.

Thanks
