Audi Data Plug

Being one of the lucky ones to have finally received my Q4 last week, I seem to have the usual troubles connecting to the App.

The dealer has sent me an Audi data plug - I live in an area with poor mobile coverage and he thinks this is the problem.

Has anyone experience of using a data plug (and the “Audi Connect Plug and Play” app? With a Q4?

Reading up on it suggests that this will give me Bluetooth connection to car data (so doesn’t help the remote access to set charging/climate) - but also appears to be aimed at older ICE cars without onboard SIM card?

This doesn’t sound like a viable solution. The app connects to the vehicle via the cloud and would have no protocol to use a local Bluetooth connection…

I’ve also read that the data plug is for older vehicles and not for new ones with a built in data connection.
