I asked why the service cost so much as I can’t really understand what there is to do on an EV compared with a petrol car, but nothing firm as to why! There’s no oil or filter to mess about with, no emissions check, and clearly less moving parts to worry about in the EV. I’m convinced I’m paying for the additional training of the technicians (essential), the specific bays in the workshop, and of course someone at Audi keen to recoup the lost revenue as they have realised EVs don’t need so much servicing.

Hi Guys
Newbie here, merry Xmas to all!
I have a Q4 45 etron Quattro sportback on order.
Having just read this thread. Frankly it’s putting me off now knowing the ridiculous servicing cost, especially when I only do less than 4000 miles a year!
I had a Tesla model 3 Performance for just over 3 years and not one service was required, long story short, I queried the service centre whether I need to book my car in every couple of years for service? They told me it’s recommended but not compulsory .

Maybe I should reconsider Model Y despite stupid insurance cost?

To be honest, the Model Y is definitely going to be the better electric car.

I do enjoy driving ours but the quality of software and service from Audi means I'm never getting another Audi ever again.

Software is a concern, I had a Golf GTE previously, the app was sh1t! I am hoping Audi app might be better?

Dealer told me they have a service plan £499 for 2 services , I guess that’s reasonable.

The Q4 is serviced every 2 years regardless of mileage, and there are specific plans for the EV, so unless they are offering you a deal at £499 that covers two services over four years they are not correct.

I would guess the price they are quoting is for the ICE, not the EV.

The specific service plans for the e-tron see the link below.

Yes that’s what they are offering, 2 services over 4 years, I’ll double check with them when I pick my car up hopefully in next couple of weeks?

That’s a good deal, but definitely worth checking it’s for the EV especially at the Audi EV service plan that includes 2 services, 2 pollen filter changes and 2 brake fluid changes is £875 on their website.
