Hi everyone!

This month I will receive my Q4 45 SB ordered in January. When I inspected all the specs yesterday, I noticed that it doesn't include heat pump. I really didn't realize the important of this until I saw some other users telling that is a must choice on the car due to a 30% loss range on cold weather (less than 10ºC~50F).

Can anyone who have no heat pump on his Q4 tell me their experience? It does really affect that much on the range?

I live in Spain, so here, there is not so much freeze cold days (the less temperature I have seen this winter is 0ºC~32F), but Im a little bit worried on the impact that can temperatures between 0C~32F to 10C~50F have on the range without the heat pump.

Thank you everyone!

Cold weather will have a negative impact on range due to higher resistance in the high voltage battery, but also due to increased use of the heating system to maintain the cabin temperature.

At climate temperatures between 0 - 5C, you'll probably see a 15 - 20% reduction in range (that's my experience). A heat pump will not recover all of that loss, but may bring it down to a 5 - 10% reduction in range.

Thank you very much!

So actually the real diference between having HP or not is near 10% range loss. That's a big difference but far from the 30% i heard. I guess I would better avoid long distances on cold days then.

Thanks again! 😊
